Why I Built Talisman
I spent 25 years in enterprise integration, working with many proprietary and open-source platforms. For the last ten of those years, I worked with Apache Camel and products built on it: Red Hat Fuse, Fuse Online, and Talend.
I built Karavan to help developers new to Apache Camel, especially non-Java developers, build integrations with the new Apache Camel YAML DSL.
After two years of helping enterprise customers adopt Karavan, I built Talisman Platform: the development and operations accelerators those teams needed, on top of Karavan.
Our Story
August 2021
Karavan is Born
Marat Gubaidullin creates Karavan, a visual designer that helps developers new to Apache Camel build integrations with the Apache Camel YAML DSL.
October 2021
Donated to the Apache Software Foundation
Two months after its creation, Karavan joins the Apache Camel project as Apache Camel Karavan, governed by the ASF and developed in the open.
June 2023
Talisman Platform Founded
After two years of helping enterprises adopt Karavan, Talisman Cloud Inc. is founded to add the development and operations accelerators those teams needed.
May 2024
First Production Success Story
Talisman Platform goes into production with its first enterprise customer.
August 2026
Partnership with Cap4 Lab
Cap4 Lab begins offering managed Talisman Platform and consulting services across Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
September 2026
Partnership with ToddySoft
Talisman and ToddySoft begin working together to make ToddySoft Connect industrial drivers, API-compatible with Apache PLC4X, available from Talisman Platform.
October 2026
Studio Web, Studio for VS Code & Context-Aware AI
Talisman Platform brings the visual designer to the browser and VS Code, and Context-Aware AI adds an agent that works within your project topology, OpenAPI specs, and Apache Camel boundaries.
